Lieuwe van der Pol tijdens eerste debat in Woiudsend op 22 sept.2010

Nog voor de feitelijke campagne losbarst rond de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen van 24 november, heeft de PCBO/KBO in Woudsend de spits afgebeten en ons als partijen op 22 sept in een forum het vuur na aan de schenen gelegd.

De avond werd door de samenwerkende ouderenbonden in Woudsend belegd om vooral ook hun wens van een complex met senioerenwoningen gekoppeld aan zorg dichterbij de politiek te brengen. De 9 afgevaardigden van de aanwezige partijen lieten zich niet echt verleiden tot beloften die in een tijd van bezuinigingen wel heel moeilijk gestand kunnen worden gehouden. Zorg is er daarom zeker of er voldoende kracht in het particuliere initaitief zal liggen om dit soort zorgformules van de grond te krijgen.

In ons programma noemen we de woonservicezone als een mogelijkheid om daarmee in de behoefte te voorzien om ouderen zoveel als mogelijk in hun eigen woonomgeving te laten verblijven. Veel meer zal de gemeente zich sterk moeten maken om met het onderwijs te zoeken naar mogelijkheden om het groeiend aantal van zorgvragende ouderen (de komende 10 jaar ca. 6000 meer) adequaat te kunnen helpen. Voor mij is in ieder geval duidelijk dat daar de oudere zelf ook bij nodig is en dat daarom al het geweldig is dat deze organisaties vanavond de toon zetten! Hulde aan PCBO/KBO afdeling Woudsend!

Tussen de politieke partijen ontstond op de avond discussie over het wel of niet verantwoordelijk zijn van lokale politici van landelijk opererende partijen voor beslissingen op regeringsniveau. Daar zal het laatste woord nog niet over zijn gevallen.

Ik heb het als een voorrecht ervaren om in Woudesnd, mijn geboorteplaats, deze campagne voor vertegenwoordiging van de ChristenUnie in de nieuwe raad van de nieuwe gemeente te mogen beginnen. Ik hoop dat de rest van de campagne me net zo zal bevallen.
